This by far is the answer to the search for the perfect harnessNice item - easy to put on - my dog can practically step into the leg holes himself. The velcro is not directly below the snap attachment like some so it is much easier to put on. The way I do it to attach the snap attachment so it is very loose and put it over the head. Then my dog knows to step into the leg holes (if he needs help, that is also very easy). I can then fasten the velcro so it is snug but not tight and then snug up the snap attachment. Takes just a few seconds and we're ready to go. I bought about 5 of these in various colors - this is the only style we like!I wanted to protect my little dog's neck, so I found this harness that doesn't cover her fragile neck.I have had a hard time finding a harness that is soft and comfortable, and that is also suitable for a longer dog and doesn't dig or cut in too close to his shoulders or under his armpits. I finally settled on this one, after having used several different brands/sizes. Pros: this is well made, very padded and very soft, and has a lot of velcro for adjustment so it can easily be loosened up if worn over a sweater or coat. My little dog is 17.5lbs. and has a 19" chest with no sweater on, but he wears sweaters in our frequent cold weather so I opted to go up to a Large size. The only con is that without a sweater on, the harness is sort of loose and baggy across the front of his shoulders, so I cinch up the velcro pretty snugly as I think that may create potential for him to back out of it. Overall, though, I would buy this again, and both of my little dogs have one!I have a twenty pound terrier that is a idiot on a leash. This looks to be made well but hasn’t helped with the control problem. It just might be the dog, only time will tell. He us 9 months old and still very much a puppy. The harness is almost perfect.I went up to the XSmall because little guy was right on the max for the girth in the XXS.It does fit well, except the lock straps are a bit "loose" (do not hug the withers), due to having to wrap the velco tighter than a larger dog would need .This does keep the strap from being a tight fit in case of latch failure or velcro failure, BUT the harness construct should keep it together enough to get dog and fix the harness. I also plan on using a collar with and attachment connecting all D rings when hiking for added safety and security). That out of the way, this harness is a keeper! My boy loves this harness, it encourages him to walk beside me when I reel him in for heel practice (i use a 10 ft lead to walk him).It encourages him to not strain forward and pull BUT does not dig into his shoulders or chest. He actually "smiled" for the first time walking- head up, mouth open and relaxed and eyes bright.I do recommend this harness as it does NOT choke the dog when he does strain at the leash, easy on and off, double D rings to hook leash into makes it comfortable for the dog and doesnt pull harness sideways.Velco is sturdy and tight, the stitching on harness is excellent, everything looks amazing.I'd like to get a second one exactly the same type or perhaps a similar design in the future from this companyI love my dogs new red vests! I have two dogs. One is a Jack Russell, and the other is a jack Chihuahua mix. They each weigh about 15 pounds and are older dogs. I bought the medium after reading the reviews and the manufacturers suggestions. I wasn’t planning on spending this much on dog vests but the quality and the pictures look so much better than the other cheaper models. I got them fairly quickly but just tried them out this evening. Wow, was I impressed. They are extremely well-made and sort of quilted with dog bone designs in the fabric. They are padded nicely too, and look like a much more expensive vest. They are held together by a strip of Velcro that is about 5 inches long. They attach on the top of your dog with a double thick approximate 1 inch cord that clips together then has a double ring to attach the leash. My jack Russell is very strong and I wasn’t sure if she’d pull off the vest. She always pulls on a normal dog collar. She didn’t pulled at all and it held securely for our long walk. I purchased some dog rain coats from another vendor which were nice but the Velcro wasn’t as long and they were too small. These fit my dogs very well and would extend another 2 to 3 inches larger or go 2 inches smaller. I am extremely happy with my purchase. The only reason I rated them four stars is because part of the vest below the neck is a little large but that allows for free movement. I highly recommend these vests. They’re worth the few extra dollars!!!Item was just a described. aided this one to replace one that was 4 years old and the velcro wore outI bought this for my shih-tzu that had a throat op and I wanted to keep any pressure away from that area. It served its purpose for that. However, no matter how tightly I wrap it, my dog can reverse out of it. I initially discovered this to my horror on a walk, when suddenly my dog just wasn't there. Instead he was across the road sniffing an interesting tree. I dread to think what could have happened had he encountered traffic.I no longer trust this product and will not be using it again. EVER!Likes: It's nice and soft and well padded.I can see why some dogs may like it.Dislikes: 1)My dog was measured correctly, a smaller harness wouldn't have fitted and it's too baggy round the front. I wouldn't like to say whether she could or take a chance on her reversing out of it.1)The loops are also too long and baggy, meaning that they either click together or bang against her back. These cannot be adjusted.3)This was the first harness I've ever tried on her that she just refused to walk in.4) Some of the stitching wasn't the best quality and I can see faults developing in the future.Really great, safe and secure harnesses.I bought 2 for my tiny Yorkshire Terrier puppies,an xs and an xxs.Even my vet commented on how lovely they were. The pups are bigger now and the harnesses are still fitting them well 2 months later.I can't recommend these highly enough.I have noted some negative comments regarding sizing,I measured my little guys in length, girth and neck,I chose the appropriate size and they fitted perfectly. As for them getting out of the harnesses, they tried but they simply couldn't.If a dog is reversing out of a harness, there's sizing issues.I have a small chihuahua and this harness fits perfectly, Chihuahuas have big heads and Popcorn hates having his head stuffed through a narrow space no problem with this one! just put his feet through and do it up. He likes it it is warm and comfy Would recommend as a good, great, stupendous buy.as one of the other review has stated dogs can simply walk backwards out of these harnesses. They are made of good quality stuff and when they first arrived we thought they were great.... until last week when one of our Maltese simply stepped backwards and the harness just came straight over her head and fell on the floor. i'm just glad we were not by a busy road. a couple of days later both dogs did it on the same day. Be very carefull of this design. I am returning both as they are just not safe.
