My dog has a bad habit of biting slippers and carton all the time at home, to correct his habit, so I bought this collar.I used the "beep" function for the first time to get her attention, I found that she didn't make it stop, then I used the "vibration" function, I turned the level to 4 and she started to respond , looking at me the whole time, then I used the "shock" function, and she quieted down, I tried it on my arm, it's not painful, but it's enough to get your dog to pay attention to your order and change its behavior.I used this collar for a night and I think it's amazing, you can adjust the level from a low level slowly to high.you can also merely use the "vibration" function, for my dog, this is very useful .I purchased this for my puppy before training classes unfortunately classes didnt start til end of August so return window has already expired. With this being said it was only used 3 times and now not working at all. The remote turns on but the collar does not power on.Not a very strong shock or vibration. Maybe ok for smaller dogs. However, after charging the second time I could not get it to work anymore.Once we got it paired to the remote, this collar worked okay. We don't use the shock, just the buzz and/or beep, primarily to get our barky little Miniature American Shepherd to shut up when she's barking at nothing.I don't mind her barking when she's raising the alarm over something she's barking at, but too often she gets going and falls in love with the sound of her own voice, like politicians do; this distracts her and gets her to settle down, and it works at a good range, because our back yard is quite huge. It also seems to hold a charge fairly well in both collar module and remote.I wish it didn't have the unnecessary lockout button on the back of the remote - it's an awkward push to do 2 at once, and the quality of the nylon collar strap itself is lousy and has two adjustment points/buckles and two loose ends, which is one too many of each, but it works ok. Not good, but ok.Now, if we could just get every politician to wear one of these... pretty sure I would use the shock setting often on them, with considerable pleasure!I really like this for my dog. He is a 95 pound doberman who is a reactive on walks and gets easily distracted and doesn't always hear us when we try and correct him. This collar works great!!! I didn't even have to use the shock it was only the vibrate and it was enough to get him to focus back on me. It has 10 levels for shock and vibrate so there is a good range to see where your dog best responds to. I didn't ever go past level 4 and it worked great!!!! In the higher levels the shock does get pretty strong, I tested it on myself before I used it on my dog, so I would recommend staying under level 5!!!I like this collar because it has the lock button so u don’t accidentally shock your dog. You do have to engage both buttons at a time. You can start with beep and vibration and move up if u have to. It has a nice led easy to read display. Good product.Perfect collar for my 75 year old mom to use for her young, naughty bassett hound! The shock prongs are not permanately fixed which is great because my mom prefers to only use the vibration and those prongs do not seem very comfortable foe the dog.The dog responds instantly to the vibrations and even just putting the collar on her now changes her disposition immediately! The remote is very user friendly for my mom...just keep in mknd you have to press the large button on the back at the same time as preasing vibration or sound on the front...a little tricky at first, but not bad once you know!
